Sad News – 2018 Flensburg Conference cancelled

Despite great interest from potential attendees, we need to cancel the 2018 Flensburg Genealogy Conference for English Speakers.

It was a wonderful idea that we hope to do in the future. The planning team was too small and the preparation time was simply too short to put together a quality conference. We had good enthusiasm, but we underestimated the large effort to accomplish this.

We thank everyone who encouraged us along the way and also thank each potential attendee for expressing your interest.

We encourage you to attend the 2018 Genealogentag (German Genealogists Conference) in Melle.

Sincerely,

Kent Cutkomp

Two complementary conferences

The Flensburg Conference will be followed by the DAGV (Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft genealogischer Verbände) annual genealogy conference “Genealogentag” October 5 – 7 in Melle near Osnabrück in Lower Saxony. This event will include a celebration of German-American Day and an International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP) leadership gathering. Attendees are encouraged to attend both events. These two conferences are a wonderful pairing of two events welcoming visitors from around the world. Leaders of the IGGP will be in attendance in both Flensburg and Melle.
